As the national public body responsible for vocational and technical education, there are 3291 vocational and technical high schools affiliated to DG TVET.

Vocational and technical education system in Turkey includes two main dimensions: theoretical (school training) and practical (in-company training). Vocational education policies and activities are mostly carried out by the MoNE- Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education – DG TVET (Formal education).
